In-Person Electric Bike Safety Courses

Parents in Newport Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, San Clemente, Mission Viejo, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Rancho San Margarita, Lake Forest and other communities in Orange County have been asking a very important question: “Is there an in-person e-bike training program for kids near me?”

The answer is now “yes,” thanks to E-Bike Sense, an in-person training program that connects today’s youth with hands-on safety instruction for e-bike and e-scooter use.

Founded by Megan Lamb, a former professional public educator and certified biking safety instructor, E-Bike Sense offers private, semi-private and group e-bike and e-scooter training for tweens and teens.

Today, more and more children are getting e-bikes – and these electric bikes and electric scooters can reach speeds of over 20 miles per hour. That’s a lot of power for someone who’s too young to drive a car!

That’s why Orange County parents have rushed to sign their children up for E-Bike Sense’s two-hour in-person sessions. During the trainings, the certified E-Bike Sense instructor reviews the “rules of the road,” ensuring that each learner has a capable grasp on the policies and procedures that make the street safer for pedestrians, riders and drivers.

Students then transition to hands-on engagement with their e-bikes and/or e-scooters, familiarizing themselves with each component so that they can safely operate their ride-on vehicles. A thorough lesson on helmet use and helmet requirements is also included.

It’s then time for kids and their E-Bike Sense instructor to hop on their electric bikes and take to the streets of Orange County for their in-person, on-bike lesson. This is the child’s opportunity to achieve mastery of the classroom education and practice what they have learned under the watchful eye of their certified instructor.

If students successfully complete all training modules, including the on-bike lesson, they’ll earn a certificate that they can share with their school, should their Orange County junior high or high school require proof of e-bike training before they’re allowed to take their electric bike to campus.

E-Bike Sense’s in-person electric bike trainings and education programs in Orange County can be scheduled for your small group, school or child at your convenience in any of these or other Orange County communities, including Newport Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, San Clemente, Mission Viejo, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Rancho San Margarita and Lake Forest.
